The Gear Your Personal Trainers Wear
We're in our training gear pretty much all day, every day. So, we want to be comfortable and we've tried and tested just about every option out there to make sure we are! Let us save you the hassle, read on to find out about some of the gear we love, road tested by your Bondi BUF crew.
Alexa
Our resident yogi, Lex, loves her Lululemon 'Wonder Under Crops' for their comfort and ability to keep her warm or cool. On top she'll pop on her 'Power Y tank' also from Lululemon to support her comfortably and ensure there’s no "shmooshing" (is there any word more appropriate!?)”. The 'Y' backmeans she’s an unstoppable warrior! She can move with a full range of motion without any thing getting in her way. She also adores her 'Vinyasa' scarf from Lululemon wearing it before/after class to keep warm whilst she chants and meditates.
Noa
With a little baby girl, Noa is a huge fan of running. With a good jogging stroller (she loves the Baby jogger summit XC), it’s the easiest way to get a workout in while spending time with bub. Braving the cold in the mornings Noa’s running in several layers, which are easy to peel off. On her legs, she wears 2XU Element full length tights in black, “I might be in love. They make me look slimmer (trim my thighs, perk up my butt - what more could I ask!?) and also have a flat waistband so none of those annoying tight bits of elastic poke in to me or worse.... belly overhang!”On top are a few layers: first a slim fit short sleeve top (alternating between a LuluLemon racerback tank or an Icebreaker T). Then a looser fit long sleeve (she loves her Lululemon Run: Swifty tech long sleeve. “I’ve also got terrible circulation in my fingers so in the mornings that means adorning gloves (Lulu Lemon's Brisk Run Gloves are the best as they are lightweight but warm and have special pads on the finger tips so you can still use your touch phone. Genius!”When the sun comes up and the light gets a little too blinding, Noa pops on her Smith Skyline sunnies – “functionally they are sporty but still totally stylish enough to wear out to breaky after my run on the weekends”.
Abby
Starting from the feet up Abby was fitted properly at The Running Company in Bondi Beach, our resident go-to feet fanatics, with the Nike Free Run 3 5.0 - "they are super light, give medium support, and in sleek black, I can't go wrong". 2XU tights hug Abby in all the right places but are still very flexible, allowing a great range of movement. "You only notice how amazing these compression tights are when you put on an old pair of tights!". The great outdoors means a suitable to keep "toasty in winter"!. The Nike Livestrong Fanatic Hoodie is a winner, with an adjustable hood that zips up to the chin, drawstring cuffs and base, and dri-fit technology to keep the wind and rain at bay.
Alicia
Alicia, with her lethal roundhouse kick, gets her support and comfort, with a pair of Performax fitted compression tights from Rebel Sports. "They are awesome as they mould to my lower bod', plus the shiny material makes them a cut above the rest in my eyes". They provide just the right amount of lightweight compression to have her performing at her best, and feel great against my skin, "much like a second skin". The other two essential pieces for Alicia are her Energy Bra from Lululemon and her New Balance Vibram trainers from The Running Company in Bondi Beach. They both provide the perfect amount of support so she is light on her feet and bounce-free. "I can feel such a difference when I wear my New Balance trainers, I can pivot on my feet as if I had no shoes on which makes them spot on for kicking accuracy and speed".
