It's so exciting when you feel the first hints of glorious, warm weather creeping in after the winter months! Everything starts to sing 'Spring is coming' BUT you suddenly get smacked in the face with the reality that your winter hibernation has caught up with you and a spring clean for your bod is a definite must. When dusting off the winter woes the best place to start is right at the start... I mean the start of your day ;)

The most important meal of the day is your first meal, so it's essential to pack it full of nutrient rich food to get you started with a bang! Creating a delicious and energy boosting breakfast is easier than you think. Check out these six simple steps to making the ultimate green brekky bowl.

Simply choose one delicious ingredient from each step (except step 2, you can go all out here) and before you know it, you’ll have the perfect plate. Mix and match for a never ending range of recipes!

Step 1: Pick your protein

  • Poached Eggs (and/or)…

  • Salmon

  • Chicken

  • Ham

Step 2: Get your greens

Choose 3 (or more) of your favourites…

  • Kale

  • Spinach

  • Broccoli

  • Zucchini

  • Peas

  • Asparagus

  • Alfalfa Sprouts

  • Cucumber

Step 3: Crave those carbs

Half a cup is a great portion size…

  • Quinoa

  • Wholemeal Couscous

  • Sweet Potato
