Welcome back to our “what to wear to…” series. We’re only 10 days out from City2Surf, so this week we’re helping you to perfect your running threads - because wedgies, chafing, sweat and blisters are distractions you definitely don't need while you make your way up Heartbreak Hill!If you haven’t sorted out your streamlined-dryfit-water-resistant-sweat-absorbing-reflective-mesh runner’s wardrobe yet, here’s what you’ll need…
The Runner’s Checklist
Item #1 – Compression Tights
Choose a pair that will support you and your hard working muscles. Make sure you go for a 'tight' fit with a comfy waistband, as you don't want to have to spend precious race seconds stopping to hike your crotch up!
Item #2 – Bra
You need full support when you’re running, so make sure you choose a bra that is the right size, made of sweat-wicking, breathable fabric and is bounce minimising. There’s nothing worse than seeing bouncing breasts running along, yowch!
Item #3 – Shoes

Item # 4 – Headpiece
Pick your headwear depending on the season – hat for sunny days, beanie for chilly nights and a sweatband if you’re prone to the ol’ sweat-in-eyes mid race!
Item #5 – Socks
This sounds like a minor detail but believe us, socks can make or break a run! Blisters are a distance runner’s nightmare, so make sure you spend a decent amount of cash on securing yourself a good pair of socks – and there shouldn’t be so much as a thread of cotton in sight!
