The Magic Mike XXL Workout
If you don’t know what Magic Mike XXL is, then HELLO you really do need to find out! The sequel features Channing Tatum dancing up a storm (shirtless, of course), this time with dance legend tWitch as his partner in crime. This workout pays tribute to the best dance-off evverrr and will make you feel a little sweaty and red faced, even if it is for different reasons than watching the movie ;)NOTE: playing the song “Pony” by ginuwine while completing this will make you work faster… promise ;)
What this workout is all about
Channing and tWitch put on a synchronised show in the last scene of the movie, mirroring each others’ moves. This workout honours the twinkle-toed twosome by having you sweat it out in 2-minute turnaround/work sets.
Here’s what you’ll do
You have a set of 6 challenges and will aim to complete each of them in less than 2 minutes. Any time left in your 2 minutes is taken as rest. For example, complete everything in SET #1 as fast as you can and if you get it all done in 1 minute and 30 seconds, you get a full 30 seconds to rest before you start SET #2! But if it takes you 1 minute and 50 seconds to finish that first set, you only get 10 seconds to rest before starting the second set. Eep! Better move fast BUF Girl ;)
Let’s do it!
Perform each set, back-to-back, just once through for a 12-minute workout or take a 60s time out once you finish before repeating again from the top for a full 25-minute session. SET #1250m Sprint + 30 Squats SET #220 Chest-to-Floor Burpees + 30 Skaters SET #3250m Sprint + 30 Lunge Jumps SET #460 High Knees + 60 Mountain Climbers + 20 Squat Jumps SET #5250m Sprint + 100 Skips (or 100 fast side-to-side jumps if you don’t have a rope) SET #620 Regular Burpee to Starjump + 20 Compound Crunches **Beginners: to make this session a little easier if you’re just starting out, cut the runs down to 150m and take 10 repetitions off each of the exercises.
