Trainer tips to get the most from your BUF Body experience

The next round of our foundation BUF Body program kicks off on May 23rd and in case you’re wondering whether the experience is right for you, we thought we’d let you in on our top tips to get the most out of the 6-week journey, as well as our favourite workout days on the program and a few other things that might help get you motivated!

Our top tips to get max results

P1040374Libby: go with the flowThe BUF Body program is designed to transform your health one habit at a time, so to get the most out of it keep an open mind and let the journey unfold day by day. Just go with the flow, keep adding each new habit to your lifestyle as the program introduces it, and enjoy how much easier it is to eat healthily once you’re loaded with knowledge – plus, how much better your movement becomes as the weeks roll on.Cassey: get a friend on boardIt’s best to tackle the program with a buddy. Rope your housemate in to do the whole thing with you, or get your man in the game! The BUF Body program has made my husband fall in love with healthy food, and doing some of the workouts alongside me motivated him to get back into fitness. One of our favourite recipes is the zoodles served with Thai chicken meatballs.Alicia: Put it all in your diaryAt the beginning of each week, grab your diary and schedule in your workouts and food preparation time as if they were important meetings. You wouldn’t cancel or no-show to an important meeting, right? People are busy and our days are filled with things that need to get done, so if your workouts are in the diary at the start of the week, you’ll be one step closer to success.Sian: Sweet tooth? Good things come to those who waitIf you have a sweet tooth, hang out for weeks two and three of the program – there are some really easy-to-make healthy treats. My faves are the protein banana pancakes, BUF amaze-balls and chocolate zucchini bread. Delish!

The workouts we look forward to most

Libby: I love plyometric training so any workout with plenty of jumping, skipping and bouncing floats my boat! I love the Monday HIIT sessions and Wednesday themed video workouts the most, as they’re super high energy and lots of fun!P1040435Cassey: Tuesday Core ‘n’ Cardio workouts are always my favourites. Core + cardio, what more could a girl want... except perhaps a little booty work ;)Cass PlankAlicia: Goal and challenge based sessions are my favourite, so I hang out for the Rebel challenges on Thursdays. They’re always quick to do but super tough and with a goal to strive for, which I love.P1040424Sian: When it comes to my normal week Friday has always been my favourite day and it’s no different with this program! Friday's video workouts are fun and come with cool beats and quirky finishers. You really get to see the trainers’ personalities, so it gives me a smile. I also love that there’s time to catch up on missed sessions on the weekend ;)P1040596

Why we think BUF Body is kinda unique

P1040581Libby: I love that there are no meal plans and complicated ‘foodie’ style recipes. Instead, the program educates you about nutrition so you create change effortlessly and don’t yo-yo back afterwards. We encourage our girls to experiment with different approaches to find out what foods truly serve them and make them feel good. All the recipes are delicious but most importantly, simple and easy to prepare!Cassey: I love that all our programs are about the journey, not the destination. We celebrate every win and focus on adding a few new strategies and plenty of good vibes to every day, rather than looking forward to the end result. We find our girls always get better outcomes that way in the end. Also, if you've already done BUF Body but want to get involved, there are a range of other programs on the site, so you can just choose a start date that matches up with the Body intake and you'll still get all the strength of the community behind you!Sian: I love that instead of ‘circuits’ and ‘strength sets’ you'll do sessions like, 'Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle' and, 'Sex & The City'. Need I say more?Alicia: Our online community is full of amazing women who’ll support you right through the journey, sharing recipes and tips and giving you virtual high fives along the way. They’re not interested in before and after photos, or whether you did every workout perfectly, they just want to love the heck out of you! We’re all about girl power and that vibe flows through to our online groups as well. Click here to join in the fun!
