BUF Trainers' Go-To Snacks

Finding the right healthy snacks can be hard, right!? To give you a few ideas, here are the go-to foods our team of trainers often snack on throughout a busy day. Simple, healthy and yum!

Cassey – Sliced Apple with Pic’s Crunchy Peanut Butter

“I like to slice up an apple and spread it with Pic’s crunchy peanut butter after a workout – it’s a nice balance of carbs, some protein and a whole lot of yum. I try not to dip my spoon into the jar once I’m done but occasionally, it just has to happen!”Cass Apple Peanut Butter

Leash – Boiled Eggs + Toppings

“Eggs with different toppings are my all time go-to snack. I boil a whole lot of them every weekend and take a few with me to work most days. Eggs are the perfect complete food; lots of quality protein, a full amino-acid profile, healthy fats and easy to take with you on the run, they’re totally delicious with a little mustard, salsa, or pepper/sea salt on top, or I’ll add a little sliced avocado and tomato to the side”Leash Eggs

Libby – Chief Bar

“This bar is made from grass-fed meat, plus a small amount of nuts, some dried fruit and herbs. It’s slow dried with no chemicals or preservatives. I actually created the product with my co-founder, exercise physiologist and trail running devotee Veronika Larisova, because we got sick of seeing our clients eating crappy, processed protein and muesli bars because they couldn’t find anything else to eat on the run! It’s so yum, handy and to be honest, I’m not sure how I ever lived without it! Try the beef flavour if you like a bit of spice, or lamb for a subtler taste.”Libby Chief

Sian – Homemade Kale Chips

“These are my solution to giving in to unhealthy TV snacks; grab some kale, remove the stems, chop it up, pop it on a baking tray, drizzle with coconut oil and sprinkle with a little sea salt. Pop in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes and voila! Healthy crisps. I take leftovers with me to work for snacks in between clients.”Sian Kale
